What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, in the event of a disagreement regarding the contents of the Operating Manual, the master copies maintained by Browns Chicken at its principal office will be considered the controlling version. This means that if a franchisee has a different version or understanding of the manual, the official version held by Browns Chicken will take precedence.
This provision is important for prospective franchisees because it clarifies which version of the Operating Manual is authoritative. Franchisees must ensure they are following the most up-to-date procedures and standards as defined by Browns Chicken's master copies. Failure to adhere to the controlling version could result in non-compliance with the franchise agreement.
Browns Chicken retains the right to make reasonable modifications to the Operating Manual to reflect changes in products, services, specifications, standards, and operating procedures. However, these modifications cannot alter a franchisee's fundamental rights under the agreement. Franchisees are responsible for keeping their copy of the Operating Manual current to ensure compliance with the latest standards and procedures set by Browns Chicken.
