What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brightstar Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, replacement branch managers/operations managers, Directors of Nursing (DONs), and salespersons must complete Brightstar Care's applicable training programs within 90 days of their hire date. This requirement ensures that all key personnel are adequately trained to uphold Brightstar Care's standards and operational procedures. The training programs include hands-on instruction for role-specific responsibilities and system functionality, supplemented by a virtual environment and/or e-learning through the BrightStar online training system.
Franchisees are responsible for all personnel and travel expenses related to these training programs. If a franchisee fails to fully train a newly hired agency salesperson, branch manager/operations manager, or Director of Nursing within the specified 90-day period, Brightstar Care has the right to terminate the franchise agreement, provided the failure remains uncured after a 90-day cure period.
Brightstar Care may also develop a mandatory advanced training program for key personnel, which could involve fees for the training itself, as well as travel and salary expenses for the attendees. While not currently in place, this potential requirement highlights the importance Brightstar Care places on ongoing training and development. Franchisees should budget for these potential costs and ensure that all staff members complete the required training within the given timeframe to avoid potential penalties or termination of the franchise agreement.
