What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brightstar Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the new owner training sessions cover several key areas to help new franchisees successfully launch and manage their agencies. The training is organized into content specific to getting the business started, operations, sales, marketing, recruiting, and clinical aspects. These sessions aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business basics, leadership skills, sales techniques, financial management, and clinical practices.

The new owner training track is designed to incrementally build the franchisee's knowledge and skills around BrightStar Care's operations, sales, clinical business processes, and compliance requirements. These sessions supplement weekly support calls with assigned Start Team coaches. The program may include two or three sessions, each lasting 3 to 4 days, totaling no more than 12 days. These sessions are held at BrightStar Care's headquarters or a nearby training/conference center.

In addition to classroom-based training, new franchisees may also spend up to a week in the office of an existing BrightStar Care owner to gain practical experience. This allows them to participate in the agency's critical processes and learn from the established owner's experiences. BrightStar Care may approve virtual participation in certain circumstances or for specific aspects of the week's visit. The in-class training is supplemented by e-learning through the BrightStar on-line training system.

New owners and their key positions must complete all required training within 180 days after signing the Franchise Agreement and before opening their agency. If acquiring an agency via resale, the franchisee must attend two 3 to 4-day sessions (up to 8 days) of training before the final transfer of assets. Any remaining required training must be completed within 90 days after the final transfer of assets. BrightStar Care reserves the right to offer training through a virtual environment and/or an e-learning platform.
