We describe our training program in more detail later in this Item.

Two to four days of training at our headquarters for each of the 3 key positions, including (1) branch/operations manager (or director), (2) director of nursing (DON), and (3) salesperson (the "Key Positions").

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brightstar Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Brightstar Care retains the right to reduce the number of days required at their headquarters for training by using e-learning platforms. This applies to both the initial training for new franchise owners and the training of key personnel.

The initial training program for new Brightstar Care franchise owners, known as the New Owner Training track, is designed to build knowledge and skills related to operations, sales, clinical business processes, and compliance. This track may include two or three sessions, each lasting 3 to 4 days, for a maximum of 12 days total, held at the headquarters or a nearby training center. The franchise agreement states that Brightstar Care may approve virtual participation or offer training through a virtual environment and/or an e-learning platform.

For key positions within the franchise, such as the branch/operations manager, director of nursing, and salesperson, Brightstar Care provides two to four days of training at its headquarters. This in-class training is supplemented by e-learning through the BrightStar on-line training system. The FDD states that Brightstar Care reserves the right to reduce the number of days at its headquarters through the use of e-learning.

Several training subjects, such as pre-work related to HIPAA and OSHA, kickoff calls, welcome sessions, and various ABS (presumably BrightStar system) sessions, can be completed via e-learning. This flexibility allows Brightstar Care to adapt its training methods and potentially reduce the time franchisees and their staff need to spend at the headquarters, saving on travel and accommodation costs.
