What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brightstar Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a standard size territory typically includes a population of 200,000 to 300,000 people. Within that territory, there must be a minimum of 15,000 people who are 65 years of age or older.

If a Brightstar Care franchisee's protected territory exceeds 300,000 people, the franchisee must pay Brightstar Care $100 for each additional 1,000 people (pro rata) over the 300,000 population threshold. If the territory reaches 800,000 or more, Brightstar Care may require the franchisee to maintain additional offices and/or personnel if certain performance metrics are not met, as detailed in the Operations Manual.

Brightstar Care uses the GbBis mapping application to determine protected territory populations, with statistics updated every six months based on data released by the United States Census Bureau. This ensures that territory sizes are regularly assessed and adjusted based on the most current population data. A prospective franchisee should be aware of these population-based requirements and how they might affect the franchise's potential and associated costs.
