What is the minimum nursing staff requirement for a Brightstar Care agency?

Brightstar_Care Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must employ, at minimum, one part-time Registered Nurse for the Agency (unless state regulations require full-time, in which case you must employ one full-time Registered Nurse). If you operate more than one Agency, we reserve the right to require a full-time registered nurse, as well as additional nursing resources, to fulfill the nurse oversight requirements for the client count based on their acuity.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brightstar Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must employ at least one part-time Registered Nurse for the agency. However, this requirement can increase to a full-time Registered Nurse if state regulations mandate it.

Furthermore, if a Brightstar Care franchisee operates more than one agency, the franchisor retains the right to demand a full-time registered nurse, alongside additional nursing resources, to adequately oversee the client count based on their acuity levels. This implies that the nursing staff requirements are not fixed and can scale up depending on the operational scope and the needs of the clients served by the agency or agencies.

This condition ensures that Brightstar Care agencies maintain a certain standard of care and comply with both the franchisor's requirements and state regulations. Prospective franchisees should consider these staffing requirements and potential increases when evaluating the financial feasibility and operational demands of owning a Brightstar Care franchise.
