What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Brightstar Care Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is not directly addressed in the provided excerpts. However, the document does discuss the Expansion Option Fee, which is related to acquiring the right to open an additional Brightstar Care Agency.

The Expansion Option Fee is $10,000, and it is non-refundable under any circumstances once paid to Brightstar Care. This includes situations where the expansion option lapses. However, if the franchisee exercises their option and enters into a Brightstar Franchising, LLC Agency franchise agreement for an Expansion Territory during the Option Period, Brightstar Care will credit the $10,000 Expansion Option Fee toward the Initial Franchise Fee required under the new franchise agreement.

Therefore, while the Expansion Option Fee can be credited towards a future Initial Franchise Fee under specific conditions, the excerpts provided do not specify whether the standard Initial Franchise Fee for a Brightstar Care franchise is generally refundable. A prospective franchisee should consult the full FDD and ask the franchisor directly about the refundability of the Initial Franchise Fee, as well as the conditions under which any portion of it might be refundable.
