What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial term of the Franchise Agreement is 10 years. To extend the Franchise Agreement for an additional 5-year term, a franchisee must provide Brain Balance with written notice.
The written notice must be given at least 3 months but not more than 6 months before the expiration of the current 10-year term. This timeframe is important for franchisees to note, as missing this window could mean losing the opportunity to extend their franchise agreement.
In addition to providing timely written notice, Brain Balance requires that the franchisee execute the current form of the Franchise Agreement and pay a renewal fee of $10,000. The franchisor may also require the franchisee to sign a contract with materially different terms and conditions than the original agreement, and the franchisee must be re-approved by Brain Balance.
