What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the cost of the personal interview of a proposed assignee or transferee is borne by the franchisee, not Brain Balance. Specifically, the FDD states that the proposed assignee or transferee will be personally interviewed at a location designated by Brain Balance at no cost to Brain Balance.

This means that while Brain Balance does not directly charge a fee for conducting the interview itself, the franchisee or the potential buyer is responsible for covering any expenses the potential buyer incurs to attend the interview. These costs could include travel expenses to the designated location, lodging, and any other related costs.

In addition to the interview, the proposed assignee or transferee must also meet Brain Balance's standards for new franchisees and demonstrate the ability to operate the business. They may also need to complete Brain Balance's Initial Training Program at their own expense, unless they are already a Brain Balance franchisee. The franchisee will also be responsible for a $10,000 transfer fee and the transferee will be responsible for a $2,500 software transfer fee.
