What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, initial training is mandatory for franchisees, their Center Director, and their Program Director. The satisfactory completion of the initial training program by the franchisee is mandatory. As part of the training process, the franchisee will become certified in the separate programs Brain Balance offers and must complete each certification before enrolling any participants in that program.

Brain Balance offers initial training on an as-needed basis and will work with franchisees to schedule it. The self-directed portion of the training is available online at any time. Franchisees and their staff (Center Director and/or Program Director) are also required to travel to an approved regional Center to complete shadow training by their staff for two to three days, depending upon the availability of the local Center's staff.

If a franchisee chooses to sell their location after signing a franchise agreement, the new franchisee will go through a mandatory three-week training period before the complete transfer of ownership. This training includes courses through a virtual platform and virtual instructor-led training. There is also seven days of in-person training at the center location led by a member of the Training Department. If the onsite training aligns with a scheduled Initial Training class, the new franchisee will complete Initial Training with the class in place of the onsite visit.

Brain Balance provides initial training to franchisees and their employees at no cost. However, franchisees are responsible for the costs of transportation, living, and other incidental expenses incurred to attend the training, along with any wages or other expenses of their employees who attend the training. If a franchisee fails to satisfactorily complete the initial training program, Brain Balance reserves the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement and retain all fees paid.
