Pre-Opening Obligations

Before you open your Franchised Business, BBF will provide the following assistance and services to you:

  • (a) Provide advice and counsel regarding Center location and layout and, which is detailed in the Operations Manual, details regarding the selection of office furnishings and equipment for your Center (Franchise Agreement §9.01(b)). We will review and approve or disapprove of any proposed site within a period of 20 days from the date you supply us with required information about the proposed location.
  • (b) Establish basic methods and procedures for you to follow in operating your Franchised Business and license to you the customized Software for database management (Franchise Agreement §9.01(b)).
  • (c) Provide you with a list of equipment and services required for use at the Center (Franchise Agreement §9.01(b)).
  • (d) Provide you with (i) approximately 40 hours of online training; (ii) up to ten (10) days at a specified training location approved by BBF; (iii) and three (3) to five (5) days at your Center location for site inspection and a brief operations overview.

According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as part of the pre-opening obligations, Brain Balance will send a representative to the franchisee's center location for three to five days for a site inspection and a brief operations overview. This on-site visit is one component of the initial support Brain Balance provides to new franchisees.

Prior to opening, Brain Balance also provides advice and counsel regarding the center location and layout, including details in the Operations Manual about selecting office furnishings and equipment. They establish basic operating methods and procedures and license customized software for database management. Franchisees also receive a list of required equipment and services.

In addition to the on-site visit, new Brain Balance franchisees receive approximately 40 hours of online training and up to ten days at a specified training location approved by Brain Balance. They also receive about 10 hours of telephone or webinar training before opening and starting the program. Shadow training is available for the franchisee and staff at an approved regional center for 2-3 days, depending on staff availability. These hours may change based on disruptions in travel and operations. Brain Balance also provides access to the Operations Manual and form templates, as well as access to the Brain Balance Training site, an online training portal, for the term of the Franchise Agreement.
