What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Brain Balance Franchise Disclosure Document, Brain Balance is not obligated to provide maintenance or support for licensee-provided hardware, operating systems, networks, and connectivity. The Software Maintenance Agreement clarifies the scope of Brain Balance's support obligations.
Specifically, Brain Balance's responsibilities are limited to the software it provides. The franchisee is responsible for ensuring their hardware, operating systems, networks, and internet connectivity meet the minimum requirements outlined in Exhibit C of the FDD, which recommends a minimum internet speed of 5 MB per second.
This means that if a franchisee experiences issues with their computer, operating system, internet service, or local network, they will need to seek support from a third-party IT provider. This could represent an additional cost for the franchisee, and it's important to factor this into the overall cost of operating a Brain Balance center. Franchisees should ensure they have reliable IT support to address any hardware or connectivity issues that may arise.
