What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Brain Balance does license customized software for database management. As part of the pre-opening obligations, Brain Balance will establish basic methods and procedures for franchisees to follow in operating their franchised business and will license customized software for database management.
Franchisees are required to license the software/application for their center by executing the Application License Agreement. This agreement performs administrative functions for the center, including collecting data relating to customers and transmitting the data to Brain Balance's research facility affiliate. The Application License Agreement requires payment of an initial license fee and annual maintenance fees for the term of the Franchise Agreement. The agreement entitles the franchisee to multiple users at their center.
Brain Balance retains the right to data ownership for everything related to the Brain Balance systems, programs, and operations. Franchisees must also permit Brain Balance access to the Software/Application and its data and must perform the actions required to permit Brain Balance to communicate with the Software/Application and to access and record it and its data, including the purchase, installation, and maintenance of appropriate communication hardware and software.
