What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for securing all necessary permits and business licenses mandated by law for their center's location. Additionally, franchisees must adhere to all regulatory requirements applicable to the premises. This obligation ensures that each Brain Balance center operates legally and ethically within its designated territory.

This requirement places the onus on the franchisee to understand and comply with local, state, and federal regulations concerning business operations. These permits and licenses can vary significantly depending on the location of the Brain Balance center, potentially including but not limited to occupancy permits, health permits, and signage permits. Failing to obtain the required permits and licenses can result in fines, penalties, or even the forced closure of the center.

Furthermore, Brain Balance mandates that franchisees operate their centers in accordance with the terms outlined in the franchise agreement and as specified in the Operations Manual. This includes operating the franchised business in a lawful and ethical manner. Franchisees must also secure prior written approval from Brain Balance for the lease of their center's location, ensuring that the lease terms align with the franchisor's requirements and protect their interests. This proactive approach helps maintain brand consistency and minimizes potential legal or operational issues.

In summary, a prospective Brain Balance franchisee must be prepared to navigate the complexities of local business regulations and secure all necessary permits and licenses. This responsibility is a critical aspect of operating a compliant and successful Brain Balance center, contributing to the overall integrity and reputation of the franchise system.
