Your local marketing and promotional activities are crucial. Therefore, you should assume that significant expenditures on local advertising are necessary to achieve profitability. In addition to any contribution to the Advertising Fund, when you enter into a Franchise Agreement, we will determine jointly the appropriate monthly expenditure for local marketing and promotional activities, which will be no less than 9% of your Gross Revenue or $6,000 per month, whichever is higher. You will be required to allocate these expenditures in accordance with our recommendations for levels of spending by marketing channels. Required expenditures must be made on a continuing and reasonably level basis throughout the year. You are required to use locally the national advertising materials that we have produced. If you wish to produce your own local marketing materials, we must preapprove all of your local marketing and promotion and the manner in which you plan to implement them. To obtain approval, you must submit the proposed materials and information and implementation plans to the marketing department. What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use national advertising materials locally. In addition to contributing to the Advertising Fund, franchisees must allocate a minimum of 9% of their Gross Revenue or $6,000 per month (whichever is higher) towards local marketing and promotional activities. These expenditures must align with Brain Balance's recommendations for spending across various marketing channels and be maintained consistently throughout the year.

Brain Balance requires franchisees to obtain pre-approval for any local marketing materials they create. Franchisees must submit these materials and implementation plans to the marketing department for review. If Brain Balance does not provide written approval within ten days, the materials or activities are considered disapproved. Franchisees must also provide information about their local advertising expenditures to Brain Balance within 15 days upon request.

These requirements ensure that Brain Balance maintains brand consistency and quality control across all franchise locations. By mandating the use of national advertising materials and pre-approving local marketing efforts, Brain Balance aims to present a unified brand image. The financial commitment to local advertising, along with the approval process, highlights the importance of marketing in the Brain Balance franchise system.
