What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brain Balance's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not required to secure a computer maintenance contract. However, franchisees must ensure that all programs and applications running on their computer are legally licensed.

While a maintenance contract is not mandatory, Brain Balance emphasizes the importance of maintaining the computer system in good condition. Franchisees are responsible for keeping their computer system in good maintenance and repair and promptly installing any upgrades, additions, changes, modifications, substitutions, and/or replacements to the computer hardware, software, networking/connectivity devices and configurations, telephone and power lines, and other computer-related facilities as Brain Balance may direct. The cost of maintaining, updating, or upgrading the computer system or its components cannot be estimated by Brain Balance, as it will depend on the repair history, local costs of computer maintenance services, and technological advances.

Brain Balance also requires franchisees to license the software/application necessary for their center by executing the Application License Agreement. This agreement includes an initial license fee and annual maintenance fees. Brain Balance will provide support and maintenance of the proprietary software/application, while franchisees are responsible for the maintenance of their own hardware and communication software. Additionally, franchisees must permit Brain Balance access to the software/application and its data, including purchasing, installing, and maintaining appropriate communication hardware and software.
