What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Boulder Designs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all trainees, including the franchisee and any internal managers, must attend and complete the initial training program to the franchisor's satisfaction before starting operations. This initial training is conducted in person and lasts approximately five business days. The training covers essential aspects of running a Boulder Designs business, including culture, job site field tours, technical and procedural training, and sales training.

The initial training fee is $12,000, which covers the franchisee and their initial manager. If the franchisee does not successfully complete the training, Boulder Designs reserves the right to deduct costs from the initial training fee to cover their expenses. If a franchisee purchases two Boulder Designs franchises, they only need to attend training once, provided they have not appointed a new internal manager.

If a franchisee transfers controlling interest to a new owner or appoints a new internal manager, additional initial training costs will apply. The FDD also notes that franchisees may progress through the training programs at different rates, depending on their background and experience. Therefore, the time frames provided are estimates. Failing to complete the initial training to Boulder Designs' satisfaction will prevent a franchisee from beginning operations.
