What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Boulder Designs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee requests additional visits to their location, the franchisee is responsible for paying the fees that Boulder Designs establishes for those visits. Boulder Designs retains the right to inspect the franchised business and approved location at reasonable times to ensure the franchisee is operating in accordance with quality control provisions and performance standards.

These visits can include audits or reviews to evaluate compliance with required payments, standards, specifications, or procedures. Boulder Designs may offer suggestions or mandatory instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards and protect the goodwill and image of the system. Boulder Designs also has the right to remove products or supplies for testing and to observe the franchisee and employees during business operations.

This means that while Boulder Designs conducts inspections to maintain brand standards, any extra support or visits requested by the franchisee will be at the franchisee's expense. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where the franchisor provides initial training and ongoing support, but franchisees may need to pay for specialized or additional assistance.
