According to Boulder Designs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program is conducted either in person at the franchisor's headquarters or at another designated location, as required by Boulder Designs. This training is for the franchisee and their initial manager.

The initial training program for a Boulder Designs franchise consists of approximately five business days of classroom and on-the-job training. The curriculum covers essential aspects of operating a Boulder Designs business, including the company's mission, business structure, legal filings, licensing, banking, insurance, accounting, computer systems, marketing, office administration, customer service, and vendor interaction.

If a franchisee does not successfully complete the initial training, Boulder Designs reserves the right to deduct expenses from the franchisee's initial training fee. The franchisee is responsible for all travel, lodging, and salary expenses incurred while attending the training program. Additional trainees may be subject to additional fees.
