You also must also maintain an approved email account so that we can correspond with you via electronic mail. You must acquire, install, and maintain all required anti-virus and anti-spyware software as designated by us in addition to any email or internet usage policies that we require within 30 days of written notice. According to Boulder Designs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for updating the manufacturer's software on each device used in their business. Franchisees must ensure that all devices are running the latest software versions. This requirement is part of maintaining the computer systems and software necessary for operating a Boulder Designs franchise.
In addition to software updates, Boulder Designs franchisees must acquire, install, and maintain all required anti-virus and anti-spyware software as designated by Boulder Designs within 30 days of written notice. Franchisees are also responsible for adhering to any email or internet usage policies set by Boulder Designs.
Furthermore, franchisees are required to purchase and install basic financial recordkeeping software or a cloud service, such as Microsoft Office with Word and Excel. Currently, Boulder Designs requires the use of the QuickBooks accounting system. While Boulder Designs has a multi-user franchising direct agreement with Intuit, the manufacturer of QuickBooks, franchisees are responsible for any subsequent upgrades or updates to the system. The pricing for QuickBooks is approximately $40 per month for the online version, or a one-time payment of $139.96 for a 1-user QuickBooks Pro or $384.96 for a 3-user license.
