What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Boulder Designs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee can operate the business from a home office instead of a brick and mortar storefront. The FDD states that certain terms and conditions apply if the franchisee chooses to have a brick and mortar storefront and not if the operation of the business is out of a home office.
For franchisees who choose to open a brick and mortar location with a public showroom, they must keep the franchised business open during normal business hours and on the days specified in the manual or as Boulder Designs may specify. This requirement would not apply if the franchisee operates the business from a home office.
All Boulder Designs franchisees, regardless of whether they operate from a brick and mortar location or a home office, must prominently display signs, both on the interior and exterior of the business premises, in the form, color, number, location, and size that Boulder Designs designates. The franchisee is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses for the signs and ensuring that they comply with all laws and ordinances. The franchisee cannot display any sign or advertising to which Boulder Designs objects and Boulder Designs reserves the right to require the franchisee to update the signage at any time, at the franchisee's sole expense.
