What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Boulder Designs's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a minimum of 150 amp single phase electric service is recommended for the franchise location. This recommendation is part of the requirements for the physical space, which should include a minimum of 1,000 square feet of production space. The production space should also have a 10-foot tall and 10-foot wide doorway and access to water.
For a prospective Boulder Designs franchisee, this means ensuring that any potential location meets these specifications. The availability of adequate electrical service is crucial for operating the equipment necessary for the Boulder Designs business. Failing to secure a location with the recommended electrical capacity could lead to operational inefficiencies or the inability to run certain equipment, impacting the franchisee's ability to fulfill orders and generate revenue.
It is important for potential franchisees to verify the electrical capacity of any space they are considering and to consult with an electrician to ensure it meets the stated requirements. Additionally, franchisees should factor in any potential costs associated with upgrading the electrical service if the initial capacity is insufficient. This cost would be in addition to the estimated initial investment outlined in Item 7 of the FDD.
