What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Boulder Designs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, home-based sites are automatically approved if they meet certain conditions. Specifically, a home-based site will be automatically approved upon submission to Boulder Designs, provided the site is located within the franchisee's assigned territory.
However, the FDD also stipulates that the site should include a minimum of 1,000 square feet of production space, including a doorway that is 10 feet tall and 10 feet wide. This production space must also have access to water and a minimum of 150 amp single-phase electric service.
Therefore, while Boulder Designs offers automatic approval for home-based locations, franchisees must ensure their site meets the specified size and utility requirements and is within their designated territory to gain automatic approval. A franchisee must obtain written permission from Boulder Designs to locate their office (including a home office) outside of their Territory.
