What action must a Boulder Designs Franchisee take upon termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement regarding telephone listings and numbers?
Boulder_Designs Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Franchisee retains the limited right to use the telephone listing and numbers only for transactions and advertising under the Franchise Agreement while the Franchise Agreement between Franchisor and Franchisee remains in full force, but upon termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement, Franchisee's limited right to use of the telephone listing and numbers also terminates.
In this event, Franchisee agrees to immediately discontinue use of all listings and numbers.
At Franchisor request, Franchisee will immediately sign all documents, pay all monies, and take all other action necessary to transfer the listings and numbers to Franchisor.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Boulder Designs's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, upon termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement, a franchisee's right to use the telephone listing and numbers associated with the franchise also terminates. The franchisee must immediately discontinue the use of all listings and numbers.
At Boulder Designs's request, the franchisee must sign all documents, pay all monies, and take all other action necessary to transfer the listings and numbers to Boulder Designs. This ensures that Boulder Designs maintains control over its branding and customer communication channels after a franchise agreement ends.
This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as it protects the brand's identity and prevents potential confusion among customers. By transferring the phone listings and numbers, Boulder Designs can ensure a smooth transition and maintain consistent service for its customer base. The Telephone Number Assignment Agreement and Power of Attorney included in the FDD further solidifies this obligation.
