When does a Bor Restoration franchisee have to purchase the Opening Package?

- a. You must purchase the Opening Package for the Opening Package Costs when you pay the IFF.
- i. You must maintain all of the Opening Package equipment and replace it as needed to keep it operational. You are required to replace all consumables from the Opening Package as necessary. The replacement inventory is available only from an approved supplier, an Affiliate, or us.
- ii. We may require you to replace all of the tools and equipment supplied with the original Opening Package (other than the Tablet) no more often than one time every five years, and we may require you to update the Tablet no more often than once every three years. The Opening Package's replacement equipment must be purchased from our approved vendor, an Affiliate, or us. We have the right to increase this fee by any amount without limitation. We will notify you 60 days before a new fee is to be collected. We reserve the right to change the make and model of any Opening Package component at any time.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Bor Restoration's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a new franchisee must purchase the Opening Package when they pay the Initial Franchise Fee (IFF). The Opening Package includes essential equipment, tools, and supplies needed to start the Bor Restoration business, such as air movers, dehumidifiers, liquid extractors, thermal imaging equipment, mold remediation equipment, hand tools, and a computer tablet loaded with the BOR Software Suite.
The franchisee is responsible for maintaining the Opening Package equipment and replacing consumables as needed, sourcing replacements from approved suppliers, affiliates, or directly from Bor Restoration. Bor Restoration may require franchisees to replace all the tools and equipment (excluding the Tablet) from the original Opening Package no more than once every five years and update the Tablet no more than once every three years.
Bor Restoration retains the right to increase the Opening Package Cost without limitation, providing 60 days' notice before collecting the new fee. They also reserve the right to change the make and model of any component within the Opening Package at any time. This means a franchisee needs to be prepared for potential increases in costs for the Opening Package and changes to the included equipment over time.
