What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wants to use an alternate general contractor for refurbishment, Bonchon has three weeks to respond to the request. Specifically, Bonchon will review the request and communicate its decision (approved or rejected) within three weeks from the date the franchisee submits all necessary information to evaluate the proposed general contractor. This timeframe applies both during the initial term of the agreement and any subsequent terms.
It is important to note that the franchisee must submit the name of the proposed general contractor and any other required information for Bonchon to assess whether the contractor meets their standards and specifications. Additionally, the franchisee must pay the General Contractor Evaluation Fee, which is nonrefundable, at the time of submitting the request.
If Bonchon fails to respond within the three-week timeframe, the franchisee is prohibited from using the proposed general contractor. This condition underscores the importance of ensuring that all required information and the evaluation fee are submitted promptly to allow Bonchon adequate time for review and decision-making. Franchisees should factor this review period into their refurbishment timelines to avoid potential delays.
