What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bonchon has the right to require franchisees to use new or modified digital or technological applications for their franchised businesses. This includes applications like a new online ordering app, or upgraded/new software or hardware.
Bonchon can charge a Technology Fee for the use of these new technologies. This Technology Fee will either be a specific dollar or cent amount per customer transaction or a percentage of the Gross Revenues.
However, the Technology Fee will not exceed one percent (1.0%) of the Gross Revenues from the previous month. This means that while Bonchon can mandate the use of new technologies, the associated fees are capped, providing some financial predictability for the franchisee.
