What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bonchon makes no representation that a franchisee will be able to obtain the necessary licenses, permits, certificates, or other governmental authorizations needed to operate a Bonchon franchise. The franchisee acknowledges and understands that Bonchon does not guarantee the procurement of these items.
Bonchon requires the franchisee to obtain all required state, local, and other government certifications, permits, and licenses, including liquor licenses if applicable. The franchisee must also furnish copies of these documents to Bonchon. Bonchon will not allow a franchisee to open a restaurant without written approval, which Bonchon will not unreasonably withhold, provided the franchisee has met all requirements.
Furthermore, Bonchon's approval of a restaurant opening does not represent or warrant that the restaurant complies with any engineering, licensing, environmental, labor, health, building, fire, sanitation, occupational, landlord's, insurance, safety, tax, governmental, or other statutes, rules, regulations, requirements, or recommendations. The franchisee is solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This is a common practice in franchising, where the franchisee typically bears the responsibility for securing all necessary permits and licenses to operate the business legally.
