Is a nationally accredited food manager certification a prerequisite for attending Bonchon's Partner Training Program?

Bonchon Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Any attendee of the Initial Training Program must have first attended, received and hold a current Bonchon approved nationally accredited food manager certification in addition to any safe food handling courses required by the local municipality in which the Restaurant is located. You agree to produce such certification to us for review before you (if the franchisee is an individual), your Operating Principal and/or your General Manager, Area Manager as applicable, attends the Initial Training Program. No such certification is a prerequisite for attending our Partner Training Program.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a nationally accredited food manager certification is not a prerequisite for attending the Partner Training Program. However, this certification is required for anyone attending the Initial Training Program.

Specifically, the FDD states that attendees of the Initial Training Program must have a Bonchon-approved, nationally accredited food manager certification, in addition to any safe food handling courses mandated by the local municipality. Franchisees must provide this certification for review before they, their Operating Principal, General Manager, or Area Manager attend the Initial Training Program.

In contrast, the FDD explicitly states that "No such certification is a prerequisite for attending our Partner Training Program."

Therefore, while the Initial Training Program has a food manager certification prerequisite, the Partner Training Program does not.
