How many fully-trained managers must a Bonchon Restaurant have if the franchisee does not supervise day-to-day operations?

Bonchon Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If you (if franchisee is an individual) or your Operating Principal (if franchisee is an entity) will not be supervising the day-to-day operation of your Bonchon Restaurant on a full-time basis, then you must either attend and successfully complete our Initial Training Program or our partner training program (the "Partner Training Program") at no expense to you prior to opening your Bonchon Restaurant, and an additional manager must successfully complete the Initial Training Program (the Bonchon Restaurant must have at least two (2) fully-trained managers who intend to work in the Restaurant on a full-time basis).

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee or their Operating Principal will not be supervising the day-to-day operations of the Bonchon restaurant on a full-time basis, they must either complete the Initial Training Program or the Partner Training Program. In addition to this, the restaurant must employ at least two fully-trained managers who intend to work full-time at the restaurant. These managers must successfully complete the Initial Training Program.

This requirement ensures that even if the franchisee is not directly involved in the daily operations, there are qualified individuals on-site to manage the restaurant effectively. The Initial Training Program is designed to equip managers with the necessary skills and knowledge to uphold Bonchon's standards and operational procedures.

For a prospective Bonchon franchisee, this means that if they plan to take a more hands-off approach, they will need to invest in training at least two managers to oversee the restaurant's operations. This could involve costs related to training fees (if applicable), salaries, and other expenses associated with attending the training programs. It is also important to ensure that these managers are committed to working full-time at the restaurant to maintain consistent and qualified supervision.
