What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to use an architect that Bonchon designates for the development and construction of their restaurant. However, if a franchisee wishes to use an alternative architect, they must first seek approval from Bonchon.

To gain approval for an alternative architect, the franchisee must submit two items to Bonchon. First, they must provide the name of their proposed architect, along with any other information Bonchon requires to assess whether the architect meets Bonchon's current standards and specifications. Second, the franchisee must submit an Architect Evaluation Fee.

The Architect Evaluation Fee is $2,500, and it is nonrefundable. This fee must be paid at the time the franchisee submits their request to use an alternative architect. Bonchon will then review the submitted information and communicate its decision within three weeks of receiving all necessary information. If Bonchon fails to respond within this three-week timeframe, the franchisee is prohibited from using the proposed architect.
