What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee or their operating principal will not be involved in the full-time, on-site management of the restaurant's daily operations, they have the option to complete either the Initial Training Program or the Partner Training Program. This training must be completed before the restaurant opens.

The FDD specifies that if the franchisee or operating principal is not managing the restaurant full-time, an additional manager must successfully complete the Initial Training Program. Bonchon requires that each restaurant have at least two fully trained managers who intend to work full-time at the restaurant.

This flexibility allows franchisees who may be absentee owners or have other business interests to still invest in a Bonchon franchise, provided they ensure that qualified managers are properly trained to oversee daily operations. The Initial Training Program and/or Partner Training Program are provided at no expense to the franchisee; however, any attendee of the Initial Training Program or Partner Training Program must have first attended, received, and hold a current Bonchon approved nationally accredited food manager certification in addition to any safe food handling courses required by the local municipality in which the Restaurant is located.
