What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must operate their Bonchon businesses in strict compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including wage and hour laws. Specifically, franchisees are required to comply with all applicable wage, hour, and other laws and regulations of the federal, state, and local governments.

The FDD indicates that the Bonchon operating manuals contain the operating systems, procedures, policies, methods, standards, specifications, and requirements for operating the franchised business. Franchisees must operate their area development business in strict compliance with the manuals, and Bonchon has the right to make additions, deletions, or revisions to the manuals. These supplements become binding as if originally set forth in the manuals upon delivery to the franchisee.

While the FDD states that franchisees must comply with wage and labor laws and that the operating manuals contain procedures and policies, it does not explicitly state that the operating manuals contain specific information on wage and labor laws. A prospective franchisee should confirm with Bonchon whether the operating manuals include detailed guidance on wage and labor law compliance or if franchisees are expected to seek external counsel to ensure compliance.
