What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bonchon does not charge for the Initial Training Program for the franchisee (if an individual) or the Operating Principal (if the franchisee is a business entity), as well as the General Manager, Manager, and Area Manager. However, if the franchisee or Operating Principal will not be overseeing the restaurant's daily operations full-time, they must complete either the Initial Training Program or the Partner Training Program, both provided free of cost.
If a franchisee needs to replace their Operating Principal, General Manager, Manager, or Area Manager, Bonchon may charge a replacement training fee of up to $5,500 per trainee. This fee does not apply if the replacement has already completed the Initial Training Program or the Partner Training Program.
While the training programs themselves are provided at no charge, the franchisee is responsible for covering all living and transportation expenses for their trainees. These costs can vary depending on the trainee's home location, commuting options, and the class of accommodation chosen. The estimated costs cover expenses for a fifteen-day Initial Training Program or Partner Training Program, as well as on-site opening training and assistance provided by Bonchon during the 12-14 days surrounding the restaurant's opening.
