What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Area Development Agreement Rider – 2025 Development Incentive Program is effective as of the date of execution of the Area Development Agreement. This means that the rider, which supplements and amends the existing Area Development Agreement, comes into effect on the same day the Area Development Agreement is signed.

This stipulation ensures that the terms and conditions outlined in the rider, particularly those related to the 2025 Development Incentive Program, are immediately applicable upon the commencement of the Area Development Agreement. The rider modifies certain sections of each franchise agreement to reflect incentives offered under the 2025 Incentive Program.

For a prospective Bonchon area developer, this means that the benefits and obligations of the 2025 Development Incentive Program, such as the reduced initial franchise fee of $20,000 and the initial royalty rate of 2.5% for the first 12 months, are tied directly to the execution date of their Area Development Agreement. This provides clarity and certainty regarding when these incentives become active, aligning them with the developer's commitment to developing a specified number of Bonchon restaurants within the agreed-upon territory and schedule.

It is important for the area developer to understand that to receive the incentives described in the rider, they must meet certain conditions, including opening the restaurants by their scheduled opening dates, and remaining in full compliance with all agreements with Bonchon. Failing to meet these conditions could result in the loss of the incentives offered under the 2025 Development Incentive Program.
