What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wishes to use an architect other than the one designated by Bonchon, they must first seek approval from Bonchon. As part of this request, the franchisee must submit the name of their proposed architect and any other information Bonchon requires to assess whether the architect meets their standards.
In addition to providing the architect's information, the franchisee must also pay an Architect Evaluation Fee. This fee, which amounts to $2,500, is payable at the time the franchisee submits their request to use an alternate architect. It's important to note that this fee is nonrefundable, regardless of whether Bonchon approves or rejects the franchisee's choice of architect.
Bonchon will then review the submitted information and communicate its decision within three weeks of receiving all necessary details. If Bonchon fails to respond within this timeframe, the franchisee is prohibited from using the proposed architect. This process ensures that all architects meet Bonchon's standards and specifications, maintaining consistency across all franchise locations.
