strict accordance with any specifications concerning the item which we have issued in the Manuals or otherwise. You must obtain our advance written consent before deviating in any fashion from our specifications.
You must, at your expense, engage the services of the AOR we require to prepare the construction and design plans for the development and construction of your Restaurant. If you would like to use an alternate architect, then you must submit to us (i) (for our approval) the name of your proposed general contractor and any other information that we may require to assess whether your proposed architect meets our then-current standards and specifications; and (ii) an evaluation fee in the amount of $2,500 ("Architect Evaluation Fee"). The Architect Evaluation Fee is payable at the time you submit your request to use an alternate architect and is nonrefundable. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bonchon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to use an architect designated by Bonchon for the construction and design plans of their restaurant. However, if a franchisee wishes to use an alternate architect, they must first seek approval from Bonchon. As part of this approval process, the franchisee must pay an Architect Evaluation Fee.
The Architect Evaluation Fee is $2,500. This fee is payable at the time the franchisee submits their request to Bonchon to use an alternate architect. It is important to note that this fee is nonrefundable, regardless of whether Bonchon approves or rejects the franchisee's choice of architect.
Bonchon will review the franchisee's request and communicate its decision within three weeks of receiving all necessary information to evaluate the proposed architect. If Bonchon fails to respond within this timeframe, the franchisee is prohibited from using the proposed architect. This process ensures that any alternate architect meets Bonchon's standards and specifications, maintaining brand consistency and quality.
