What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bojangles reserves the right to reject a proposed site under specific conditions related to the franchisee's financial stability, adherence to agreements, and operational standards. This means that even if a franchisee finds a location that seems ideal, Bojangles can still reject it if the franchisee doesn't meet certain criteria.
Specifically, Bojangles can reject a site if the franchisee or its affiliates fail to demonstrate adequate financial resources and operational readiness. This includes having sufficient capital to develop the site and operate the restaurant. Additionally, Bojangles can reject a site if the franchisee or its affiliates are not in good standing under the current franchise agreement or any other agreements with Bojangles or its affiliates. This highlights the importance of maintaining a positive relationship and fulfilling all obligations under existing agreements.
Furthermore, Bojangles can reject a site if the franchisee or its affiliates fail to adhere to any manuals, policies, or procedures implemented by Bojangles. This includes compliance with operational standards. This condition underscores the importance of following Bojangles's established systems and guidelines for running the restaurant. A prospective franchisee should carefully review all existing agreements, manuals, and policies to ensure they can meet these requirements before proposing a site.
In summary, Bojangles's right to reject a proposed site is tied to the franchisee's ability to demonstrate financial and operational competence, maintain good standing within the franchise system, and adhere to established operational standards. These conditions are in place to protect the Bojangles brand and ensure the success of the franchise system as a whole.
