What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bojangles offers advice and assistance in local advertising to franchisees. However, the franchisee is responsible for the expense of promotional materials for local advertising.

Bojangles requires franchisees to spend at least 3% of their restaurant's gross sales on local and regional media advertising. This advertising can include various forms of media such as radio, television, magazines, newspapers, billboards, digital and social media, search engine listings, print, and direct mail. However, the 3% expenditure does not cover the costs of advertising production, marketing materials, food promotion costs, point of purchase materials, telephone book advertising, stationery, or restaurant signs.

Bojangles may offer approved local advertising and promotional plans and materials at the franchisee's expense. Franchisees must also pay $153 monthly for each restaurant to approved digital channel vendors. This payment contributes to the 3% gross sales requirement for local marketing. Bojangles also has the right to require franchisees to participate in regional advertising cooperatives.

All advertising by franchisees must be conducted in a dignified manner and adhere to Bojangles' standards. Franchisees must submit all advertising and promotional materials not already prepared or approved by Bojangles for prior written approval. Bojangles also may introduce special promotions, and franchisees are responsible for the costs associated with these promotions, including inventory and supplies.
