How many hours of Communication Skills training are provided by Bojangles?
Bojangles Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
will be set at our discretion. The initial training program for your Managing Owner and Designated Operator shall be, at our discretion, no less than 13 weeks for a highly experienced individual in the quick service restaurant industry and up to 26 weeks. The initial training program for your Managing Owner may also be reduced to two weeks, at our discretion, if your Designated Operator is a highly experienced individual in the quick service restaurant industry and completes our required training for Designated Operator. Your Managing Owner may also serve as your Designated Operator. The initial training program for managers is approximately four to eight weeks in duration consisting of classroom instruction and on-the-job training and is conducted approximately ten times per year. We bear the cost of maintaining Bo-U, including the overhead costs of training, training tools and staff salaries.
Training should be scheduled so that your trainees graduate from the initial training program approximately three weeks before the Restaurant opens. Each trainee must complete the training program to our satisfaction in order to be certified as a Bojangles Restaurant manager.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Bojangles Franchise Disclosure Document, the specific number of hours dedicated to Communication Skills training is not detailed. The FDD does outline the initial training program for Managing Owners and Designated Operators, which can last from 13 to 26 weeks for individuals with significant quick-service restaurant experience. This duration may be reduced to two weeks if the Designated Operator is highly experienced and completes the required training. Managers undergo a training program lasting approximately four to eight weeks, consisting of both classroom instruction and on-the-job training, conducted about ten times annually.
Bojangles also offers additional educational and developmental workshops through Bo-U, with each course taking six to eight hours to complete. While the FDD mentions training in areas of restaurant management, food preparation, sales promotion, and service, it does not specify whether Communication Skills are explicitly included in these programs. The training programs are coordinated by the Director of Field Training and supervised by BRI's training staff.
Prospective franchisees should inquire with Bojangles about the specific content of the training programs, including whether Communication Skills are covered and, if so, the number of hours dedicated to this area. Understanding the details of the training curriculum will help franchisees prepare themselves and their staff for effectively managing and operating a Bojangles restaurant.
