What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a list of approved suppliers and distributors is available to franchisees upon request. Bojangles maintains strict control over its supply chain to ensure quality and consistency across all franchise locations. Franchisees are required to purchase proprietary seasonings and specially formulated pre-prepared mixes from designated suppliers, as well as other products that meet Bojangles' specifications.
This requirement extends to all food items, ingredients, equipment, furnishings, supplies, materials, services, and other items used or offered for sale at the restaurant. These must be purchased solely from approved suppliers who meet Bojangles' standards and specifications. Franchisees will be required to enter into a distribution agreement with McLane Foodservice, Inc. or Sysco Corporation (or its designated affiliate) as Bojangles' currently designated general distributors, depending on the geographic market where the Restaurant will be located.
If a franchisee wishes to use a supplier not already on the approved list, they must submit a written request to Bojangles' Supply Chain Department, along with evidence that the proposed supplier meets Bojangles' specifications. Bojangles has the sole discretion to approve or disapprove the supplier. The evaluation process may involve inspections of the supplier's facilities and testing of samples, with the franchisee or supplier bearing the costs, which include an estimated $4,800 for personnel time and travel, and an additional $8,100 if product testing is required. The approval process can take between 60 to 120 days.
