What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise fee for a Bojangles Express Restaurant is $20,000. This fee is payable when the franchisee signs the Bojangles Express Franchise Agreement. All franchise fees paid to Bojangles are considered fully earned and non-refundable upon payment.
It is important to note that some franchisees who were grandfathered under earlier agreements may have different franchise fees, royalties, and Marketing Development Fund contributions than those outlined in the 2025 FDD. During the previous fiscal year, the franchise fee paid to Bojangles for each Bojangles Express Restaurant was also $20,000, while franchise fees for other restaurant types ranged from $25,000 to $35,000, depending on previously negotiated terms.
Bojangles also offers a Development Incentive Program (DIP) for Minorities, Women, and Veterans. If a franchisee meets the DIP Program's eligibility requirements, Bojangles will reduce the franchise fee by 50% for the first two DIP Qualifying Restaurants developed under the Development Agreement. However, participation in the DIP Program requires signing the Development Agreement no later than December 31, 2025, and meeting other specific conditions, such as Eligible Persons holding at least 51% of the ownership interests.
