What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may request an extension of up to six months for the Site Approval Deadline, Construction Commencement Deadline, or Opening Deadline. To do so, the franchisee must submit a written request to Bojangles and pay a lump-sum extension fee of $2,500.00. This fee is intended to compensate Bojangles for its costs, expenses, and lost opportunities related to the proposed extension. The extension request must be received by Bojangles at least 14 calendar days before the deadline date.

Bojangles has the sole discretion to grant or reject the extension request. If approved, Bojangles will determine the length of the extension. Factors considered by Bojangles include the franchisee's diligence in developing the restaurant. If the extension request is rejected, Bojangles will refund the $2,500.00 extension fee to the franchisee.

It is important to note that extensions only apply to the specific deadline being adjusted and do not alter any other deadlines. Strict compliance with all deadlines is considered essential to the Franchise Agreement, and failure to meet them can result in termination of the agreement. This highlights the importance of careful planning and proactive communication with Bojangles if a franchisee anticipates difficulty in meeting any of the specified deadlines.
