Are existing Bojangles franchisees currently permitted to continue using other point of sale systems and network packages previously acquired?
Bojangles Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Existing franchisees who operate Bojangles Restaurants are currently permitted to continue to use other point of sale systems and network packages previously acquired and in use and may be permitted to do so for limited time periods going forward. These point of sale systems must be kept updated and franchisees must be able to support them. Eventually all older systems will be required to be replaced with the POS System designated by us. We have the right to test any point of sale and computer systems in the Restaurants for possible future use and approval.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, existing franchisees who operate Bojangles restaurants are currently permitted to continue using other point of sale systems and network packages they previously acquired. However, this permission may be for a limited time. These franchisees must keep their existing point of sale systems updated and be able to support them.
Eventually, Bojangles will require all older systems to be replaced with the POS System they designate. Bojangles retains the right to test any point of sale and computer systems in the restaurants for possible future use and approval.
New franchisees, or those not currently operating a Bojangles restaurant, are required to use the designated POS System from the approved vendor, Xenial, Inc. These new franchisees must also purchase their network package from CSI, Inc., at an estimated cost of $17,000. This network package includes firewalls, wireless access points, routers, switches, and high-speed communications.
