What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the criteria for the Equipment Reimbursement Incentive Program are detailed in the "Equipment Reimbursement Incentive Program Addendum" to either the Bojangles Development Agreement or the Bojangles Franchise Agreement. This addendum modifies the existing agreement between Bojangles and the developer or franchisee to incorporate the specifics of the incentive program.
The Equipment Reimbursement Incentive Program is designed to encourage the development of new Bojangles restaurants. To be eligible, a developer must sign a new development agreement by December 31, 2025, committing to develop and operate at least three new Bojangles restaurants. Franchisees cannot participate in other incentive programs or receive other monetary concessions from Bojangles or its affiliates under other development agreements. If multiple development agreements are signed in the same year, the program applies only to the agreement with the most store commitments.
To qualify for reimbursement, restaurants must meet specific criteria, including being opened in the assigned area within a set timeframe (four years for agreements of three or four restaurants, five years for agreements of five or more restaurants) after the development agreement's effective date. The restaurant site must be approved by Bojangles, comply with the development schedule, and have a fully executed Franchise Agreement. Bojangles will reimburse up to $300,000 of equipment costs for each qualifying restaurant within 30 days of the restaurant opening and receipt of satisfactory invoices.
Franchisees must comply with Bojangles's site submittal review and approval process and execute the standard Equipment Reimbursement Incentive Program Addendum to the Bojangles Franchise Agreement. The number of restaurants eligible for reimbursement depends on the development commitments in the Development Agreement. This addendum and its incentives can be terminated without notice if the franchisee fails to meet the outlined conditions.
