The training location will be set at our discretion. The initial training program for your Managing Owner may also be reduced to two weeks, at our discretion, if your Designated Operator is a highly experienced individual in the quick service restaurant industry and completes our required training for Designated Operator. Your Managing Owner may also serve as your Designated Operator. The initial training program for managers is approximately four to eight weeks in duration consisting of classroom instruction and on-the-job training and is conducted approximately ten times per year. We bear the cost of maintaining Bo-U, including the overhead costs of training, training tools and staff salaries.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, training is primarily conducted at company-operated restaurants and at Bojangles University, referred to as "Bo-U", which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The specific training location will be determined by Bojangles at its discretion.
For Managing Owners and Designated Operators, the initial training program can last from 13 to 26 weeks, depending on the individual's experience in the quick-service restaurant industry. However, the Managing Owner's training may be reduced to two weeks if the Designated Operator is highly experienced and completes the required training. The Managing Owner can also serve as the Designated Operator. Manager training lasts approximately four to eight weeks and includes both classroom instruction and on-the-job training, conducted about ten times annually. Bojangles covers the costs of maintaining Bo-U, including overhead, training tools, and staff salaries.
In addition to the primary training locations, franchisees and their employees have access to ongoing training resources. These include the Bojangles ServSafe portal for ServSafe certification, with the online or in-person training program costing approximately $65 and the certification exam costing around $30. Franchisees can also participate in additional workshops offered by Bo-U, each lasting six to eight hours. Furthermore, Bojangles utilizes a Learning Management System (LMS) for continuous training of managers and team members, with a monthly subscription cost of approximately $34.00 per restaurant, subject to change.
