How does Bojangles calculate the average advertising fund contribution per company-operated Restaurant?
Bojangles Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
We will, for each of our company-operated Restaurants, make contributions to the Fund equal to the contributions required of comparable franchised Restaurants within the Bojangles System so that our average contribution for each company-operated Restaurant will be equal to the average contribution per franchised Restaurant.
This average per Restaurant contribution for franchised Restaurants will be calculated by dividing the total contributions of franchisees to the Fund by the total number of franchised Restaurants.
Our total contribution to the Fund will equal this average per Restaurant contribution multiplied by our total number of company-operated Restaurants.
In addition, we may contribute promotional rebates we receive from suppliers to the Fund.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company calculates its contribution to the Marketing Development Fund for company-operated restaurants to match the average contribution of franchised restaurants. This is achieved by dividing the total contributions from all franchisees by the total number of franchised restaurants. This calculation establishes the average contribution per franchised restaurant. Bojangles then ensures that its contribution for each company-operated restaurant equals this average.
To determine the total contribution from Bojangles for its company-operated restaurants, the average contribution per franchised restaurant is multiplied by the total number of company-operated restaurants. This ensures parity in contributions between company-operated and franchised locations. In addition to these contributions, Bojangles may also contribute promotional rebates received from suppliers to the fund, further augmenting the resources available for advertising and promotional activities.
This system ensures that company-operated restaurants contribute to the advertising fund at a rate equivalent to that of franchised restaurants, promoting a fair and balanced approach to funding marketing initiatives. For a prospective franchisee, this means that Bojangles is invested in the brand's marketing and contributes to the fund in a manner proportional to its company-operated locations, aligning its interests with those of its franchisees. This also demonstrates Bojangles's commitment to supporting the brand's overall marketing efforts, which benefit all locations within the Bojangles system.
