What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bojangles's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must submit all advertising and promotional plans and materials to Bojangles for prior written approval, provided these materials have not been previously prepared or approved by Bojangles. This requirement ensures that all advertising aligns with Bojangles' brand standards and public image.
The acceptable methods for submitting these plans include sending them through the mail with return receipt requested, via electronic mail if the sender receives confirmation of successful transmission, or through next business day delivery. These methods provide verifiable proof of submission and receipt, protecting both the franchisee and Bojangles.
This process is typical in franchising, as franchisors like Bojangles need to maintain brand consistency across all locations. Franchisees should factor in the time required for approval when planning their advertising and promotional activities to avoid delays. Failure to obtain prior written approval could result in the franchisee being non-compliant with the franchise agreement.
