What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body Brain Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the computer system, including both software and hardware, must meet the franchisor's standards and specifications. While franchisees can purchase the computer system from any supplier, they are required to utilize a specific web-based point of sale system called BRMNet Software, which is licensed from Body Brain Center's affiliate, BBYHC. This means that while franchisees have some flexibility in choosing their computer hardware, they must adhere to Body Brain Center's standards and use the designated software.
This requirement ensures uniformity and compatibility across all Body Brain Center franchise locations, which can streamline operations and support. However, it also limits the franchisee's autonomy in selecting their preferred software and hardware. The franchisee is responsible for a monthly fee of $40 to BBYHC for the use of the BRMNet Software.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the specific standards and specifications for the computer system to ensure they can comply with Body Brain Center's requirements. Understanding these standards upfront will help franchisees avoid unexpected costs or compatibility issues. It is also important to understand the process for getting alternative systems approved, if that is an option.
