What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body Brain Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the criteria for evaluating a supplier include standards for the quality, delivery, performance, design, appearance, and price of the product or service. The evaluation also considers the dependability, reputation, and financial viability of the supplier.
For a prospective Body Brain Center franchisee, this means that the franchisor has established specific benchmarks that suppliers must meet to become approved or designated. These standards cover a broad range of factors, from the tangible aspects of the products or services (quality, design, price) to the more intangible aspects of the supplier (reputation, dependability). This system aims to ensure that franchisees receive goods and services from reliable sources that meet Body Brain Center's standards.
The FDD also states that Body Brain Center will provide objective specifications pertaining to their evaluation of a supplier upon request. However, certain subjective criteria, such as product appearance, design, and functionality, are also important but cannot be described in writing. This indicates that while some evaluation criteria are quantifiable and transparent, others rely on the franchisor's judgment.
If a franchisee wishes to use a non-approved supplier for source-restricted items, they must submit a written request for approval, along with any additional information or samples requested by Body Brain Center. The franchisor may also inspect the supplier's facilities. Body Brain Center will then notify the franchisee of their decision within 60 days of receiving the request and all required information. This process ensures that franchisees adhere to the established standards while allowing for flexibility in sourcing, subject to franchisor approval.
